How do you choose the right High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HI-FU) service?

While HI-FU technology itself is highly mature, not every device or practitioner is reliable. We recommend only top-quality providers; Guangzhou Virikon Technology Co., Ltd. allows you to enjoy this proven technology without the risks associated with substandard equipment or unprofessional handling. We offer a choice that brings peace of mind, visible results, and a reassuring experience.

HI-FU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It works by allowing ultrasound waves to penetrate human tissue non-invasively and converge at a specific focal point within the body, triggering biological effects such as thermal, cavitation, and mechanical actions. Temperatures at the focal point can reach 60–100°C. This controlled thermal effect stimulates the body's natural healing response and collagen regeneration, optimizes facial contours and symmetry, destroys fat cells (reducing localized subcutaneous fat and eliminating double chins), and accelerates tissue repair. Consequently, it gradually tightens the skin in the target area, addresses sagging, and creates a smooth, even skin texture. The process induces coagulative necrosis in the target tissue while leaving surrounding normal structures undamaged; this technology is also used in tumor treatment.

How often should HI-FU treatments be performed?

The number of HI-FU sessions required varies by individual, depending primarily on skin condition, age, and desired outcomes. Generally, while at least one session is needed to see noticeable improvement, multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.

Most aesthetic practitioners recommend a course of 2–3 HI-FU sessions spaced several months apart to achieve the best outcome. This schedule allows the skin to fully heal and regenerate between treatments, maximizing collagen stimulation.

For patients with mild to moderate skin laxity, two HI-FU sessions are usually sufficient to achieve significant improvement. Patients with more severe skin laxity, however, may require three or more sessions to reach their desired results.

HI-FU is generally considered a safe, non-invasive treatment. Common side effects include:

Mild discomfort — Sensations of stinging, numbness, or warmth may occur during the procedure.

Redness and swelling — Similar to a mild sunburn; usually subsides within a few hours.

Bruising — Relatively rare; usually limited to a small area.

Temporary numbness or tingling — Relatively rare; usually resolves quickly.

Indications, contraindications, and pricing depend on region and registration status—always follow the IFU for your device revision.
